Abstract

The growth of transportation systems in major cities, including Purwokerto, particularly in rail transport, necessitates an evaluation of supporting facilities such as station parking and drop-off areas. This paper aims to analyze the performance of the drop-off layout at a railway station using microscopic traffic simulation modeling with the PTV Vissim software. The Purwokerto Station serves as a case study for the design and management of railway station drop-off areas. The analysis results indicate congestion and long vehicle queues occurring in the drop-off area during peak hours under existing conditions. This study examines both the current condition (year 2025) and a future scenario (year 2035), and proposes alternative layout modifications to improve performance. Homogeneity and significance tests were conducted to validate the simulated vehicle travel time data. The recommended layout modifications are expected to reduce congestion and queuing, thereby enhancing user satisfaction.
